Today's meeting featured a last minute replacement speaker from CCRI and more reports from your Lions Club Teams on our activities.
Community Service Projects:
Sandbagging for Fargo: A group of Lions gathered at Sand Bag Central last week to fill sand bags. If you wish to join the team they will be meeting again Wednesday, March 10 and Friday, March 12. Meet at the Coliseum Arena at 6 pm to catch the bus to the site. You can also go at a time convenient for you, and make sure to sign in as a Lion. The Fargo Lions will receive $75 for each 100 hours served. Contact Lion Mark Jensen if you have any questions.
St. Patrick's Day Parade: Lion Larry Zich reported that the plans are confirmed for the parade Saturday, March 13. Lions will meet at 2:30 at the corner near the Old Broadway. We will set up barricades for the DCP before the parade begins, then serve as safety marshalls. Currently we have 12 Lions signed up for this project. We would like 20. Feel free to bring your spouse or children along to work the project as well.
Other Events:
Speech Contest: Lion Robert Littlefield announced that he is seeking Lions to serve as judges on March 20 for the Speech Contest. The volunteers need not be professional speakers or experienced judges. The Speech Contest will feature local high school students. If you are interested contact Lion Robert for more information.
